FAQs

How did Crafted Social begin?

We began in Spring 2019 as two full time working artists with a goal of making this region a thriving place for other working artists, makers, and functional designers. Our intention with Crafted Social is to promote artists through our markets and events as well as our Story Series, photographing artists working in their studio space, telling their story, and celebrating the process. We took these words from fellow Kentuckian, Wendell Berry, to heart “A Good Community insures itself by trust, by good faith and good will, by mutual help. A good community, in other words, is a good local economy.”

How do I apply to future markets?

Our next event will be the Winter Market Dec 8th and 9th! Applications will be online.

What are you looking for in a vendor?

Simply put, we at Crafted Social we are looking for serious makers and artists in the region that work in traditional and contemporary craft. We encourage anyone working in woodwork, ceramics, printmaking, glass work, fiber art, jewelry, etc. to apply! We are always on the lookout for emerging or established makers that create original products with quality craftsmanship.

*We do not accept vendors that work in primarily vintage, body care, food and drink, or outsourced products.

Are you a collective?

We get this a lot. Crafted Social is NOT a collective. We are comprised of just two working artists, with the dream of creating a strong community of full time makers and artists in Central Kentucky and the surrounding region. We have kept our past markets small and without open application, in order to hone our idea and direction before presenting a large scale well curated market with many more vendor opportunities. So stay tuned for open online applications for our next market!
